Tom Thumb Vendor Guide Lines COVID-19

Vendor Partners,

I am sure we share the same belief that the world around us has changed significantly over the past few months due to the COVID-19 Virus.

As a result of our ongoing concerns and with an effort to protect our team, we are asking that all vendors respect the following guidelines when servicing or delivering to a Tom Thumb location:

  1. Only 1 vendor, salesperson or delivery person should be on premise and inside the store at a time
  2. All outside vendors must have a mask or facial covering to cover their nose and mouth at all times while visiting a Tom Thumb Location
  3. All outside vendors are encouraged to wear rubber/plastic gloves or similar hand protection while visiting a Tom Thumb Location
  4. Maintain a minimum 6′ distance while interacting with our team, during order taking, stocking and delivery
  5. Maintain a minimum 6′ distance from all customers during order taking, stocking and delivery
  6. Where possible minimize unnecessary touching while visiting, refrain from handshakes, hugs or other forms of direct contact with members of our team
  7. Check-in: Tom Thumb Reserves the right to require Vendors to sign in on a Visitor log (using their own pen) to establish a record of service. This would also serve to help in contact tracing if needed.
  8. Order verification process: Instead of our employee signing off using a shared touch hand held, Vendor Partners will need to legibly record/enter the last name of the employee plus a 4-digit code of the employee’s choice. In addition, vendors should either be willing to wait for verification of product counts OR allow our stores to contact you via email within 24 hours if a Discrepancy is found between billed quantities and delivered quantities.
  9. All outside vendors are responsible for monitoring the ongoing health of their field teams to ensure that NO one is allowed to visit a Tom Thumb Location that:
    1. is exhibiting symptoms for COVID-19 as per CDC Guidelines
      1. Fever (above 100.4ºF, 38ºC)
      2. Chills
      3. Muscle Pain
      4. Headache
      5. Sore Throat
      6. Loss of Taste and Smell
      7. Cough
      8. Shortness of breath
      9. **This list may not be all-inclusive
    2. Has tested Positive for COVID-19 (and has not tested Negative)
    3. Has been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 (and has not tested negative)
    4. Has traveled through an airport in the last 14 days
    5. Has traveled on a cruise ship in the last 14 days
  10. All outside vendors will self-report immediately to Tom Thumb headquarters, Chief Strategy Officer, Richard Klyczek, should any vendor having serviced a Tom Thumb Location be found to have been infected or exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days and their delivery/visit history within our stores within last 14 days. Tom Thumb will also self-report if and when any member of our teams may have tested positive or been exposed to COVID-19.

We will monitor and revise these policies as often as necessary but we expect that these guidelines will be in place until the end of 2020.
